Mt. Hakone & Lake Ashi

A grand volcanic mountain and the caldera lake that spreads out as if cradled in its arms. The view with Mt. Fuji in the background is breathtaking. Visitors can enjoy the scenery from the water aboard sightseeing cruise ships, including the famous pirate ships. The autumn leaves in fall are particularly exceptional.

Hakone Shrine (Kuzuryu Shrine – Shingu)

A revered spiritual spot known as the guardian shrine of the Kanto region, drawing worship for centuries. The vermilion Heiwa no Torii (Peace Torii Gate) standing on Lake Ashi is a popular photography location. Within the shrine grounds lies Kuzuryu Shrine (Shingu), believed to bring blessings for relationships, good fortune, and prosperity.

Hakone Checkpoint

A historic site that once monitored travelers along the Tokaido Road during the Edo period. The restored structures faithfully recreate the original appearance. By visiting the museum alongside the checkpoint, guests can experience Japan’s history and culture, enjoying a sense of traveling back in time.
